The Asian Pacific American Democratic Caucus of Alameda County will be holding three virtual endorsement meetings for the local races in the Nov. 3 General Election, one each in North County (Oakland/Berkeley/Alameda), South County (San Leandro/Hayward/Fremont/Union City/Newark), and East County (Livermore/Pleasanton/Dublin).

Due to time limitations, we will only be holding virtual live group interviews with Democrats running for mayoral or city council seats.  However, we have invited candidates running for most of the down-stream offices (e.g., school board, rent board, healthcare districts, etc.) to complete questionnaires which will enable them to be included on our ballot.   Our endorsement committee will review all the questionnaire-only candidates and make recommendations based on their responses.

All members in good standing who register and attend the Zoom meetings will receive a secure ballot and provided an 18-24 hour window to vote.  Only candidates who receive at least 60% of those voting will receive an endorsement.  Only Caucus members in good standing may vote. You will receive an email from us if you are current in your dues to ensure your good standing.

We will send out an invite for the meetings shortly. Meanwhile, mark your calendars! Dates of Virtual (Zoom) Endorsement Meetings:

East County (Livermore/Pleasanton/Dublin) – Thursday, Sept. 17, 6:30-8:30 pm.  For questionnaire responses of East County Candidates, click here.

South County (San Leandro/Hayward/Fremont/Union City/Newark) – Sunday, Sept. 20, 1-3 pm. For questionnaire responses of South County Candidates, click here.

North County (Oakland/Berkeley/Alameda) – Thursday, Sept. 24, 6:30 – 8:30 pm. For questionnaire responses of North County Candidates, click here.

There will be three separate ballots, one for each area.  Caucus members may vote in each area that they register for and attend the endorsement meeting. We will post our endorsement results on our website, FB, and various social media platforms to reach voters in Alameda County. Please be aware that due to the unusual circumstances of this year’s election, we may need to make some adjustments and we will notify you promptly.
